:: In the last month ::
:: We went to Mexico on a mission trip with high schoolers...
We were outside the city of Tijuana. Children playing in the streets is common. It's the biggest sandbox ever. People make their houses of whatever they can find, but mixed in with those are houses built by mission trips OR there are even some that are "gated" and beautiful houses in the midst of this. I can't imagine living in my beautiful home while my neighbors lived in shambles.
We worked on two projects. We added a second story to a parsonage for a future pastor and we doubled the house size {adding a 2nd 12x12 room} for a family of 6. It was great to get to know that family and get to know them even if we didn't speak the same language.
We went to Rosarito for our "free" day and walked through the market, hung out on the beach and ate authentic Mexican food including churros!
{It was a very busy day at the beach.}
We did VBS two of the mornings. We did the story of Noah's Ark and the wiseman building his house upon the rock. We had them paint rocks {which some people schoffed at} to represent building our lives on Jesus and they LOVED it!
The children are precious.
It was an amazing week. God is moving and we dwelt in His presence in Mexico.
::After Mexico I had a week of work and then off to Confirmation Camp at Camp Lutherwood in the middle of nowhere Oregon...
We spent time in the Word and talked about what it means to be a Christian.
We celebrated a birthday.
This was the group I was with for the week.
We worshiped Jesus in the middle of the woods!
My favorite camp moment was when we were driving home and the kids sang camp songs the entire way!
:: NOW we are starting our next adventure! Brian left on Tuesday and helped with our precious Goddaughter while her baby brother was being born. I joined them last night and today I am enjoying this precious face!
Newborn baby pictures to come tomorrow!
